The Sponge Whose Pants are Square

spongebob_invitation Tonight, the yellow sponge who lives in a pineapple at the bottom of the sea, will celebrate his 10 year anniversary with “SpongeBob Squarepants: Truth or Square.” SpongeBob, to me, is like driving by a traffic accident. You know you shouldn’t look, but you can’t resist. And tonight’s show won’t be any different.

SpongeBob, like Sesame Street, has become one of those shows where a lot of talented people have provided greats live performances and super voice work. While past shows have featured performances from Marion Ross, Pat Morita (both from Happy Days) and Johnny Depp, tonight’s show will feature: Rosario Dawson, LeBron James, Tina Fey (watch for a shout out to Tina Turner), Robin Williams, Pink and Will Farrell. This list doesn’t include the regular cast of Tom Kenny (SpongeBob), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick Star), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy Cheeks), Doug Lawrence (Plankton), Jill Tally (Karen, Plankton’s computer wife) and the great Clancy (Lex Luthor) Brown (Mr. Krabs).

Am I prepared to give up an hour to worth this show tonight? No, but I will record it and watch it over the weekend. After all, as SpongeBob would say, “I’m ready. I’m ready. I’m ready.”

Yay! and Huh?

On November 6, 2009, in Fandom, JLU, The Secret Saturdays, by Bill

The Secret Saturdays

Tomorrow night, the third season of the Secret Saturdays will air on Cartoon Network.  This means we get 10 more episodes of this wonderfully written animated series.

When we last saw the Saturdays, they thought the battle with Argost and Kur were over and they’d saved the world. Little did they know, what they really did was open up a ton questions about Zak and his future.

Can’t wait.

And if you’re a fan of the animated Justice League series, you are in luck. Cartoon Network will re-air the series tomorrow night as well. Sadly, they will be airing the horrible third and final season of the series. You know, the one with the ugly and unresolved triangle of Shayera, John and Mari (Hawkgirl/ Green Lantern/ Vixen). Still, it will be good to have a Bruce Timm series back on the air again.
