Replaced My Impression with a Galaxy S II

Back in August 2009, I commented that I had replaced my Samsung flip phone with a Samsung Impression. Well, late last month I replaced the Impression with a Samsung Galaxy S II and all I can say is “Wow!” As much as I loved my Impression, there is no comparison between the two phones.

This post won’t be a review of the phone or a comparison of the Galaxy S II vs. the iPhone 4, 4S or 5. This post is simply about a boy and his toy (and it will be brief).

My son recommended the phone to me after he purchased one in mid-October. Now to be fair, my Samsung Impression was chugging right along, making calls, sending messages, taking picture and doing all the thing we now expect a phone to do. But after I saw my son’s new phone, the “I gotta have the new stuff” gene kicked in and I started seriously looking at it.

Long story – short, I bought the phone about 2 weeks after my son. It works and does all I need it to do and some things I’ve never even dreamed of yet. Even the sync software works right out of the box which is something the Impression software didn’t do. There was a time when I thought the Impression was the last phone I’d buy, now I’m pretty sure this one will be. That is, until the “I gotta have the new stuff” gene kicks in again…in about two years.

  1. Bill, the condition you suffer from is called A.A.S. (Acute Acquisition Syndrome) There is no cure and it is highly contagious. My wife and I both have it. However, it is unclear whether I gave it to her or she gave it to me. At this point, I don’t think it matters…You should have your MSO checked, I guarantee the results will come back positive.

Belated “Congrats” on your new phone!

    • Apparently, my MSO also developed this disease, thus last Monday she also got a replacement phone…just like mine (and my son’s)…thanks.
